Wildcats and Mooseheads Game 3 Tonight

March 26th, 2012

Moncton, NB

Jeff Robichaud, News 91.9FM

Game 3 of the opening round series between the Moncton
Wildcats and Halifax Mooseheads is getting headed both on and off the ice.

The Mooseheads who hold a 2-0 series lead in the best of 7 weren’t
happy with the actions of the Wildcats when they sent in a tape of a high hit
by Konrad Abeltshauser on Patrick Delisle-Houde in game one of the series
resulted in a 2 game suspension for the big #10. So in retaliation Ross Johnson
has been suspended for 2 games for a checking to the head penalty from the late
stages of game 2.

So now it appears that any questionable high hit now is
going to be sent to the league for supplementary discipline.

The series shifts back to the Coliseum for games 3 and 4
tonight and tomorrow both are 7PM starts.

Patrick Downe of the Wildcats gives us his take on the first
2 games in Halifax and what they have to do for game 3 “We had a couple of
losses in Halifax but we just have to take game 3 as if it were the first game
and play a 1 game series from now on” He goes on to say that they have to keep
playing hard shift after shift. “We have to play with a winning attitude and
play with a lot of intensity and a lot of heart and desire”

“it was a tough start for us in game two they scored two
quick ones I think we responded well and played the hard the rest of the game “He
goes on to say they need to stay focused and play a completed game “the message
is we need to play a whole sixty minutes we can’t take any minute off”

Alex Saulnier took the morning skate and will be a game time
decision. Wildcats have been outscored by a 9-2 mark in the first 2 games and
if Saulnier can go tonight certainly will have a bit more of an offensive
spark.

Game 3 gets underway for puck drop at 7PM and we will be on
the air with the pre-game show starting at 6:30PM and you can listen online at www.news919.com or listen on the air at
