Wildcats return to action in Charlottetown

The Moncton Wildcats are kicking off the post Christmas par t of the QMJHL Schedule tonight in Charlottetown against the PEI Rocket and the Cats are getting some much needed help back in the line-up a belated Christmas present if you may.

Coming into tonight’s action the Wildcats sit 4th in the Maritime division at a 17-18-2-0 record 4 points back of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for 3rd in the division.

Wildcats have dropped their last 6 games going back to before the break and they have a hard time with the team from the Island Capital who are coming off a 6-4 loss to the Halifax Mooseheads last night in Halifax. The Rocket sit last in the Maritime  Division at  8-25-2-2 for 20 points but 3 of their 8 wins have come against the Wildcats.

Wildcats still without the services of Devon MacAusland lower body but is expected to  be back January 10. Marek Hrivik is day to day with headaches and Cameron McDonald still not time table with his concussion from back at the end of October.

But for tonight Alex Saulnier returns way ahead of schedule from an upper body injury that has kept him sidelined for a month.  Patrick Downe also makes his return on the back end tonight after missing 5 games with an upper body injury.
