NASCAR  Sprint Cup Series:

Last Race: Sunday June 17th:  Michigan International Speedway, Brooklyn MI:  Dale  Earnhardt Jr. ended a 4-year, 143 race winless drought in dominant fashion taking  victory on at a very fast Michigan International Speedway !  NASCAR’s most popular driver finally got back  to victory lane leading just about half the race distance and looked  untouchable in the closing stages, when reigning champion Tony Stewart was his  closest combatant. Following the final stops for fuel, where the frontrunners  went for 2 tires, Earnhardt was in a league of his own, able to stretch the gap
to Stewart to almost 6 seconds, pulling away easily, the fans at Michigan going  berserk! It was 1,463 days since Little E’s last win at the same track in his  first season with Rick Hendrick!

Cup Points: E is now 2nd in the totals, just 4 back of leader Matt Kenseth. ( 3rd )

Next Race: Sunday June 24th.  Road Course at Infineon Raceway, Sonoma CA. Last year’s winner: Kurt Busch.
