Looking at the back to back Canadian races, Toronto and Edmomton, it’s no wonder the drivers of the IZOD IndyCar series like racing here!
Toronto turned into a war zone with crashes and name calling that threatened to carry over to Edmonton, the drama sky high!
Alex Tagliani told Raceline Radio Edmonton would be revenge time for the contact and fouling in Toronto.
Not quite!
Tag himself triggered the biggest mess of the race on lap one in turn 5 that took Paul Tracy out.
Then things just settled down once the drivers got a feel for the track tempo under green.
Will Power used his energy to be very aggressive to keep Dario Franchitti behind him and get right back into the points chase with the win.
And no name calling either!
Too bad the Canadian trio didn’t have a better show, but the attendance was darn good, to the point the standees were 5 deep along the fences in places!
IndyCar gave the race a 9, saying then only improvement needed would be more grandstands.
Considering we almost lost Edmonton, I’ll give it a 9.9!
