For the life of me, I do NOT understand people.
Here’s the release from NASCAR:
Chris Moore, a crew member for the No. 43 team ( Driver: AJ Allmendinger ) in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, has been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy. On June 22, Moore was found to have violated Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 19 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2010 NASCAR Rule Book.
The Petty organization has fired Moore.
And last week, former driver Randy Lajoie was cited after admitting on a radio show he had smoked pot as recently as last month. Randy hasn’t raced in 4 years, but got “dipped” when he applied to be a spotter for Joe Gibbs’ Nationwide effort.
What don’t I get?
Everybody, and I mean EVERYBODY knows NASCAR has ZERO tolerance, and stiff penalties when it comes to substance abuse, yet we still have participants using dope!
What is the thought process here?
Are they that high that they figure they will never be caught?
The random testing NASCAR does means there is a very good chance if you use dope, you WILL be caught… eventually!

I’ve always wondered about our short tracks. How many are smoking the wacky tabacky? Are there any short tracks that active and checking for this problem. Everyone worries about the top what about the bottom. What was Randy thinking. Not to be a pessimist but I’ve been waiting for NASCAR to nail one of the top guys. It will happen sooner or later.
- JAMES CONRADYou mean “LOCAL” tracks James?
- Erik TomasIn my experience over many years, for a good majority of your weekly divisional runners, the junk is left at home, with the odd beer left to after the races. But the suspicion has always been ( and sometimes smelling breath will tell you ) when you bring in “outsiders” for things like enduro’s and demo’s, the odd joker is going try and ruin it for everyone else by adding something to their own fuel cells before hand.

Yes I meant the Local tracks. You are closer to things then I am so I’m sure you are right. It is good to know our local runners are policing themselves successfully.
- JAMES CONRADI would like to ask something off topic; any new news on Cayuga Speedway and what is going on with C.M.S. C.M.S’ website hasn’t changed lately. I hope everything is still on track.
Nothing but silence from Cayuga Speedway as usual. New owner? He makes no noise. Latest on CMS was aired last week on the show. It’s podcasted on this website James, have a listen.

Thanks for the heads up for the pod cast. What bothers me is when the track gets built, the people now causing things to bog down, will about face and say what a great thing this is for the region. Many of my friends are race fans and can’t wait for CMS to get built. Here’s hoping things get done.
