I have decided that my quit date is going to be this Sunday, so I have been gearing up for it and winding down the amount of smokes i’m having in a day.
Over the last few days, I have got it down to 10. I, on average, would smoke a pack a day, but just realized that during the morning show and my time at work I was averaging about 12-15 cigarettes before noon! In the past three days, I have pared that down to four and soon ZERO! Have to stay positive!
People have been asking me about Champix and I have to say that I really believe it has been helping me alot. I haven’t really suffered through any side effects, I am drinking alot more water though. Probably about 8 bottles a day. The other thing is I have been lucky enough to get advice from Aaron Ladd and he is great at getting you ready for your journey. Alot of this is repetition, but we have to keep telling ourselves.
Today, i want to talk about using different methods for fighting off those cravings outside of the 15 minute delay. After consulting with my “Quit Coach”, I have decided to use water, toothpicks, mints, gum, carrot sticks, and visualization as my helpers. Have to make sure you have all these things at your disposal before you roll into your quit date. These items should help soothe those cravings if the 15 minute delay doesn’t do it for you… Let’s keep battling together. We CAN do this!
