All the buzz in this fine city of Winnipeg is about the possible relocation of the Atlanta Thrasher lately. I’m cautiosly optimistic this is going to happen, i’d be pumped. When the Jets left in 1996, my heart broke… it felt like I lost a family member. I’ve been a cynic with all the rumours in the past but TNSE have done everything perfectly. No interviews, no tickets drives… they played it quiet and it looks like it’s going to work.
Hopefully we can celebrate an announcement soon, I don’t care what they call the team (I’d prefer Jets), call them the Falcons or Thrashers or Meat Heads…. I don’t care, I want to be able to get out of my 15 year NHL funk and start caring about hockey again. I want to be excited about local sports when the Bombers are done. Good, bad or ugly (The Jets always seemed to be the latter in the past) I’ll support this team 110% every night. BRING EM HOME!!
