So, I’ve had a lot people ask me about my Britney Spears experience in Toronto on Thursday. To be honest, the entire trip to Toronto was an experience, and most of it bad. But let’s start with the Britney Spears show. The start time on eh ticket was 8pm. but apparently the show started an hour earlier, at 7. The time was changed on Thursday morning, but thanks to a lot of e-mails from Q listeners, I was given a heads up, but judging from the sparse crowd at 7, most didn’t know. I would think there were a few upset people over that. The Pussycat Dolls were the opening act, and my daughter loved them. They actually put on a pretty good show. After a small break, Britney came on, being lowered onto the stage in some sort of cage thing. Our seats were a little far from he stage, and surprisingly there were no big screen to watch. It was a well choreographed show, but it really seemed like she was just going through the motions. It was nothing special, infact, I expected a better show. My daughter did get $50 T-Shirt and loved the show, so that was the most important thing. I took some video, and I’ll try and post it here later today.

O.K., so that was the first part of the trip to Toronto. The second part is not so good. After a good, hearty buffet breakfast at the Novotel (Which by the way, was free because the air conditioning in the hotel was down all weekend…) I went down to the parking garage to bring up our vehicle. Well, much to my horror, some idiot(s) smashed the passenger side window and broke into the vehicle, stealing a ton of stuff! Here’s some of the stuff: GPS, 2 Nintendo DS units, 2 DVD Players…and the list goes on and on. Please note that this stuff was locked up in a storage area, but they smashed into that. Then if that’s not enough, after I pulled the truck out of the parking spot, I noticed that someone that parked next to us, smashed the door and a side panel! After cleaning up the broken glass, we hit the phones, trying to find someone to fix the window. Finlay, around 1pm, a Speedy Auto Glass managed to track one down. After about 4 hours, we finally left Toronto! I was so glad to see it in my rear view mirror! This really ticks me off! These morons get my stuff, then I have to pay $400 to get a window replaced (under the $500 deductible on my insurance), then the hassle of dealing with my home insurance to get the other stuff. There’s another $500 deductible..so now I’m out almost $1,000! Goodbye Tax Refund! To make matters worse, I have to go back to Toronto in 2 weeks for a hockey tournament! Oh..and the big dent on my truck and the inevitable rise on my insurance rates! So..how was your weekend!

As Canadians mourn the loss of four more fallen soldiers in Afghanistan, a videotaped segment of an American TV talk show where panelists mock Canadian soldiers as slackers is making the rounds on the Internet. The five-minute segment, which aired recently on Fox News late-night program Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld and later posted on You-Tube, features American panelists suggesting Canadian soldiers need time off for “manicures and pedicures.” The item aired after Gen. Andrew Leslie, the Canadian Forces Chief of Land Staff, told a Senate committee the military would need a one-year break from operations after the mission in Afghanistan winds down in 2011.
