The City of Chilliwack has issued a boil water advisory for residents of the Mount Shannon area on Little Mountain.
Whether it’s water for drinking, brushing teeth, cooking, or even making ice you should boil water for at least two minutes before letting it cool for use.
All affected homes have been given written notices, so according to the City if you haven’t seen a notice then your tap water should be ok.
Seems like the bacteria level in the water at the Mount Shannon zone 2 water supply reservoir was reading too high.
It could be the hot weather has helped some microbes grow.
The City estimates four days to get the water back to normal.
