If you’re wondering what might become of the old Paramount theatre downtown, the Friends of the Paramount now have a business plan all set up.
They’re going to unveil their plan at a meeting Monday night.
Co-organizer Laura Reid says the building is in better shape than many people think.

“Yes, the roof is leaking and some of the acoustical tiles have fallen in the main theatre.  And yes, the seats all need to be cleaned, but really overall the theatre is not in that bad of shape and we’re very confident after being in there that we can get it up and running.”

She says they have looked into other similar successful business models while designing their plan.
They’ve also been in touch with businesses in the area.

“and the feedback we’ve gotten is that with a revitalized Paramount, the downtown area restaurants feel this will invigorate their businesses.”

The meeting will be held at the old Arts Centre on College Street at 7:00 Monday night.
