Chilliwack RCMP say you can expect more traffic safety blitzes in the Promontory area. Cbl. Tracy Wolbeck says Speed Watch volunteers recently did a blitz at the corner of Teskey and Stoneview, and were shocked with what they saw.
“There’s a 3 way stop within the school zone in the Promontory area, and our volunteers attended that area for under 2 hours, and in that time frame there were 37 vehicles failing to stop for the 3 way stop, 11 vehicles traveling above the posted 30km/hr speed limit, and 2 vehicles with drivers on cell phones.”
She says this is an ongoing issue that they’ve just recently been made aware of, getting numerous complaints from parents, and it is a serious concern. She says there will be zero tolerance for traffic violations in this area. If you are caught running a stop sign, speeding or talking on your phone, they will ticket you.
