You can help out two organizations at once this month through the Canadian Blood Services Bleed and Feed campaign.
Just head out to one of the local blood donor clinics and bring a donation to the food bank with you.
Spokesperson Angela Poon says you’ll want to set aside about an hour since you have to fill out some forms and get a quick iron test to make sure you’re eligible to donate.
She says once you’re on the bed it takes around five or ten minutes.
“depending on how large your vein is, and how much water you’ve had that day (the more water the better). Then after that, you move onto the best, part…the cookies and juice….and you will feel proud that you’ve given back to your community.”
Upcoming Chilliwack clinics take place Dec. 26 from 2 to 7: 30 p.m. at Central Community Church. and Dec. 30 from noon to 5: 30 at Broadway Church on Maple Ave. You can also call 1-888-2-DONATE anytime.
