Finally! The 2010 Winter Olympics are here.
Tonight, the whole world will watch what can truly be called a global phenomenon. The Opening Ceremonies kick off 17 days of intense, emotional athletic competition. There will be cheers and jeers. Smiles and tears. Nail bitting moments and runaway victories. But one thing is clear. Athlete or not. The human spirit will shine bright in all of us. Brighter than the Olympic Flame.
The Canadian Olympic Broadcasting Consortium has a motto. “Do you believe”? So, I’m asking you, do you believe? Believe in the power that comes, when the world stands together as one?
Whether you cheer for the red and white, the red, white and blue, the gold and blue, the blue, red and white, the black, gold and red or any other colour the represents the 80 plus nations that will take part….enjoy!
Enjoy this once in a lifetime experience. I know I will.
