White is a born and bred Bostonian native so it will be interesting how he mixes the city he loves with his desire to push the envelope with the Spike executives. He is really looking to see how far they will go and how much they will allow (in the film). In other MMA / Movie news, Rich Franklin’s “Cyborg Soldier” was released on DVD today and based on the trailer, the movie might actually be worth watching.
We all know how bad the UFC is trying to get into NY state, but their #1 opponent is not the politicians; it’s the unions. They have a history with the Fertitta’s, the brothers who own a majority share in the UFC and are hell bent on making their life miserable. The aftermath that is Elite XC on Saturday night continues to raise eyebrows in the industry. When Seth Petruzelli made comments that he was encouraged to not take Kimbo Slice to the ground, flags of conspiracy and bribery began waving everywhere. Seth Petruzelli discusses bonus money; Kimbo’s posse threatening his wife and more while Elite XC VP Jared Shaw was on ESPNRadio1100 to attempt to clear the air. The State of Florida has no immediate plans to investigate EliteXC bribery accusations, which will likely change as many of the other commissioners are hoping a complaint will be filed.
