Sea Dogs Beat Titan

BATHURST – Zack Phillips scored twice and Jonathan Huberdeau added three assists to lead the Saint John Sea Dogs to a 5-2 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

Charlie Coyle netted his fifth goal in four games, while Charles-Olivier Roussel and Danick Gauthier also tallied.

It’s the Sea Dogs’ third straight win, but just their second in six games against the Titan.

And they had to come from behind to do it.

The Titan scored two power play goals in the opening five minutes when Nathan Beaulieu was in the penalty box serving a double minor.

Saint John countered quickly with Roussel and Coyle scoring before the ten minute mark.

Phillips’ first of two gave Saint John a lead it would not relinquish.

Phillips and Gauthier added goals in the second period.

Sebastien Auger made 30 stops for the win.

The Dogs host Moncton Thursday.
