I have a lot of respect for Hedley
Friday, February 17th, 2012
I’ve interviewed Hedley a few years ago and at that time had never really listened to a Hedley record. I followed that by going to a show…and was blown away. I don’t get blown away by concerts often, but they put on a show that was far more than I expected. Jake (the lead singer) is so full of energy….he basically runs around non-stop for over an hour and a half. Granted he’s impressing 14 years old girls who are easily distracted by shiney objects…BUT…with that in the back of your head, the kid can sing and the band is pretty tight.
So when I had to chance to meet the guys when they came to Lethbridge, I jumped at the chance. Now I’ve been to a lot of “Meet & Greets” and love going to them. I love meeting bands…it’s kinda why I got into radio. Now normally bands will only meet a couple of people. You can tell they don’t really want to be there and any chance to “connect” with your favourite rock star is lost cause you’re pushed through like cattle. Hedley met with over 50 fans! And they did it with a big fat smile on their face. I’ve never seen so much energy with a bunch of guys before their concert. If they come back, go see them.
Thanks to Jaime Vedres for taking my pic. I’m an ugly sucka.

Former band mates Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic have gotten back together to record a song for the new Foo Fighters album!
“Sixteen years after the Nevermind rockers split following frontman Kurt Cobain’s suicide, the band’s drummer and bassist joined forces in Grohl’s garage recording studio – and the collaboration was overseen by former Nirvana producer Butch Vig.”
This is really great for Krist’s career, since the only thing he’s done after Nirvana is Grow a unabomber Beard.
