Blank Tape Levy

Remember the band Staggered Crossing? They had great songs like Further Again, and Felony…and many more that didn’t start witht he letter “F”. Well they broke up a while ago, but the Lead Singer of Staggered Crossing (Julian Taylor) is back! Actually he never really went anywhere, but has been working at his own music promotion company called Bent Penny Records for quite some time. In 2007 he was almost ready to put out his solo record, but then his production studio was broken into and someone stole his master tapes. Did he let this get in his way…nope. He went back into the studio and started from scratch. His new album is going to be on iTunes in a month or so…but you can hear it now on ReverbNation. It’s pretty rad.

It’s always great to see a band grow into something great. Kyle and the boys from Incura (formally Invein) have done just that.
Coming Clean

Have you heard of The Travezty? By now, I’d hope the answer is yes. They are an indie band from the metropolis of Taber, Alberta. And one of my favourtie local bands to see live. We’ve had them in the studio a bunch of time and were on the first episode EVER of New Rock Nation. They have a record out that you can get on CD Baby, iTunes or at and of their shows. See this band if you haven’t seen them. Buy their record if you haven’t bought it.
Art Of Dying

I get a ton of CDs come across my desk…and it’s cool because we get a chance to find out about bands who don’t get played on the radio all the time and aren’t really well known. With this Blog I hope to be able to introduce you to a lot of new music.

Art of Dying is a band from Vancouver. They’ve been featured in video game trailers and TV shows galore and some music directors have called them the best indie band in the country! The lead singer Jonny emails me often to keep me in the loop with what’s happening with the band, he wanted me to post a song for you to hear…and this is one of my favourtie songs from their record it’s called Get Thru This. This Track rips! It takes you out for seafood dinner and doesn’t call you the next day…
