Why don’t COOL things happen to me..
Thursday, May 28th, 2009
Seriously anytime I try and be cool, it back-fires. Does that ever happen to you?
So I went to the Sasquatch Festival this past week at the MOST beautiful venue in the world The Gorge (pic below). Over 60 bands played over 3 days including Kings Of Leon, NIN, Janes Addiction…sounding pretty cool by this point eh? I know. This is actually my 3rd time going to this festival, and it’s likely the coolest thing I do every year. Despite the coolness level, ever year something terrible happens to me.
The first year someone rolled a big steel garbage can down a hill and it slammed into me.
The second year I took a shower at the provided campground showers beside someones poop.
This year I was running from one stage to another and stepped in a pot-hole on the first day, only to sprain my ankle..causing me to hobble around for the rest of the weekend. I figured I hobbled about 5 miles all together.
I mean if I was doing something cool, like back-flipping off of an RV to impress a series of super hot girls only to eventually take them all back to my tent and I sprained my ankle, that would be a cool story..but not me. Nope I was running and it was dark..that’s all I got.
The price you pay to rock I suppose.

Finger Eleven @ Suede
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008
GOOD TIMES were has last night at Suede as Finger Eleven hit the stage. I saw these guys play my college and if there’s one thing that noticed is how slick this band has become. You can tell they know thses songs inside out and could play them backwards if they had to. Rich Beddoe was a pleasure to watch as he played drums, in fact they were all pretty electric. They played all the songs I wanted to hear and hung out with people at the club after the show. Thanks to Lee and everyone at Suede for making us feel at home.
Here’s some photos I took at the show. If you like what you see, check out my photo-blog: www.scottmcgregor.ca

Sasquatch Festival
Thursday, June 5th, 2008
I went to the Sasquatch Festival at The Gorge in Washington for the second time in a row this year. “Amazing” is not a big enough word to describe it. It’s one of the most beautiful venues to experience music, in fact Dave Matthews loves it so much he does 3 shows there a year! Saw some great bands and we sure met some crazy people. We were camping beside a guy who claimed to be a Shaman, and he said that he could get you down from an LSD high with just the shake of his hand…oh and for $5 will FreeStyle Rap for you about any topic you chose. You Can’t Make That Stuff Up!!
If you ever have a chance to go to a concert festival, do it. It may change you life…in fact here’s a list of things to add to your Bucket List:
1) See The Flaming Lips
2) Pay a 6′7 tall Jewish guy to freestyle rap for you.
