Matt Good Preaches to the Choir

Matthew Good did an interview with The Canadian Press recently, talking about his new album “Vancouver” and also expressed thoughts about the Junos and why he’s never gone to the awards show despite the face he’s won a bunch of times…saying:
“When it’s actually a television broadcast that celebrates actual Canadian music, rather than who’s doing well internationally and has been in car commercials and iPod commercials … I’ll go,”
Now to a music outsider this may seem like Matt is bashing Canadian Music, etc…but as someone that has attended the Junos many times..I must say..he’s right. The Junos are based on album sales. If you sell a ton of records you will will a Juno. The idea that a high selling record shouldn’t win a record may come to you as a shock, but in my opinion just because an album sells 1 million copies doesn’t necessarily mean it’s any good. Example: Paris Hilton’s debut album sold 1.6 Million copies world wide. That’s right 1.6 Million people actually bought that wretched disc…does that mean it’s any good?? I’ll let you assume the answer.
The Junos, in my opinion, should be a vehicle not for labels, but for quality. I would much rather listen to the greatest album no one has ever heard of than the biggest seller with the most amount of trophies.

This Is Why You’re Fat
Thursday, March 19th, 2009
I found this funny website and it could answer that burning question about America, that one friend you have, your mother in law, etc. Why are they so fat???
My favourite reason:
The McGangBang (A McChicken sandwich inside a double cheeseburger.)
Really?

One of the guys from the MTV show Jackass is on the show dancing with the stars. Remember Steve-o? Ya recently, he was actually sidelined from the show and couldn’t perform. Evidently he can light his privates on fire, roller-skate down hill naked and get eaten by alligators…but still hasn’t mastered “The Salsa”.

Lawyer for rapper Chris Brown want the charges against him dropped for that one time when he beat the crap out of his girl friend Rihanna. Saying: “He will argueit was a misunderstanding between two young people passionately in love.”
I never knew what true love actually was. Thanks Chris Brown! The next time my girl friend and I are having a “misunderstanding”…I’ll make sure she gives me a black eye…to prove she really loves me.

The Bachelor
Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009
Now, I don’t follow reality TV that much, but like most guys I was stuck watching the 3 hour long bachelor last night with the girlfriend…
Here’s the thing, so this guy, had a whole TV show to fall in love with someone. Picked this girl…then, 15 mins later (in TV time)…breaks off the engagement, and asks another girl if she’ll take him back.
Here’s my thoughts…if you can’t pick 1 girl to marry out of 25…after 13 torturous weeks of television…you should get voted off the island, fired and Chef Ramsey gets to cut something off and cook it for dinner.
It’s like if your kid can’t pick between playing hockey or baseball…sorry pal, you’re taking horse back riding classes, think faster next time…moving on..

Click this link for Quicktax Online and save $3.00! It says “Presented By RBC”, but if you don’t bank there, you still get the discount.
Hopefully this helps make your tax season suck less!
