THE REPORTS
7:15 NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE REPORT
Hi everybody, it’s the Coach Scott Taylor and it’s time now for the 92-CITI-FM National Hockey League Report. Brought to you by MAACO Collision and Auto Painting at 983 Wall Street.
If you were a team in the Eastern Conference, would it scare you just to think that Martin Brodeur was playing his best hockey of the year?
Tuesday night, Brodeur recorded his second straight shutout while Winnipeg’s Travis Zajac scored a goal and was one of the best players on the ice as the New Jersey Devils whipped the Atlanta Thrashers 3-0 to eliminate Atlanta from playoff contention. Brodeur now has 600 career wins and two straight shutouts. Look out for the Devils in the post-season

Mark Martin is the defending champ while Jimmie Johnson won the fall race at Phoenix. Both drivers will be tough on Saturday night at 7:30 on Fox.

Don’t believe it’s such a bad thing that the Winnipeg Blue Bombers were $44,687 over the cap last season. Considering that with all the money promised or pre-paid by Brendan Taman, much of it to players who were already departed, the Bombers started the season $300,000 over the cap and played almost the entire season with their own cap of $3.9 million, not $4.2 million.
With a record of 7-11, the Bombers did extremely well – under the circumstances.
