Be careful with that fork…

A man who accidentally swallowed a plastic fork 10 years ago had to have emergency surgery to remove the utensil. Lee Gardner said that when he swallowed it, he had been “playing around” with the fork but then gagged causing it to slip down his throat. A doctor instructed him to let the fork pass and he said that over time he forgot all about it. Now 40-years-old, Gardner was taken to the hospital for severe stomach pain and blood in his vomit. Doctors operated on him and 45 minutes later, extracted a black, acid-worn fork that they had been scratching at his stomach lining. Gardner said, “I can’t believe it. I have never had any problems with my stomach except once a couple of years ago I remember thinking I felt like something had lodged when I bent over awkwardly. But the advice at the time was that it would just pass through my system, and as that was so many years before I really didn’t think it could be the fork.” A hospital rep said, “The plastic had been exposed to stomach acid for ten years but apart from it being black, there was no damage. It didn’t melt it down or anything which is remarkable.”

Who did it? Who saw Joey Lawrence naked this weekend in Vegas? Not high on your to-do list? Get in line.
Yeah TV “star” Joey Lawrence made his debut with Chippendale’s this weekend, dancing almost naked with the all-male dance troupe.
First off, good for him. Thats something I could NEVER do. I can’t dance and I’m nowhere near comfortable with what I’m packing to be dancing naked.
And keep in mind, Joey still has a somewhat wholesome image, as he was once on Blossom and now he’s on the ABC Family Channel sitcom Melissa & Joey.
Lawrence will be appearing nearly nude in the show for a limited engagement that runs until June 24th. Check him out… ladies.

Royal Visit

They’re gone. Prince Charles and his lovely wife Camilla have ended their whirlwind visit to Canada, and they ended it in Regina. Regina? I get that its the “Queen City” and all, but when royalty or world leaders come to our country… is THAT what we want to show them? Regina?
Here’s an idea… take ‘em to Banff. Go to Lake Louise. Every trip should involve someplace nice. Kelowna, Vancouver, Toronto, Quebec City, and parts of Atlantic Canada. Thats it. Don’t “promote” our country anywhere else. Sure some places get screwed over, but who cares… move. No one’s coming to Lethbridge… and thats cool, I’ll live.

Mother’s Day is this coming weekend and I have no idea what to get my mother. Gift Card? Too impersonal. Card? Not enough. Cash? Who gives their Mom cash? So here’s an idea… get her pizza… from Pizza 73.
Give mom a treat with a delicious Mother’s Day Delight Pizza on her special day. Any 2 toppings… IN THE SHAPE OF A HEART!!! Awwww.

Fighting In Bed?

Every fight with your significant other in bed? Well apparently your not alone. A new survey finds the average couple fight in the bedroom 167 times a year. Now thats the average… so some couples are doing it a lot more. GET A DIVORCE!!! Thats a lot of fighting.
Here’s a list of whats couples are fighting about the most:

1. Hogging the cover
2. Snoring
3. Being too hot
4. Not being ‘in the mood’
5. Allowing the children to sleep in the bed
6. Venturing on to the wrong side of the bed
7. Being too cold
8. Being touched by your partners cold feet

What do you think of people… who give their pets… human names? Me you ask? I hate it… one of my Pet Peeves. And this from a guy who’s fiancee named her dog Zoe.
One of the beauty’s of having pets… is naming it WHATEVER you want. Cupboard? Sure Buckethead? Yep. Can’t do that with kids. Our dog plays with a dog across the street named Owen. Why? Then my son’s friend comes over and realize THE DOG across the street has the same name is him.

Cool Alarm Clock

Ever have trouble getting out of bed? Ever hit the Snooze button one too many times? Well a guy in New Jersey hopes so.
A 25-year-old man has created a clock that can only be stopped by getting out of bed. There is no snooze button to turn off and go back to sleep.
If you unplug it, a battery takes over and there’s no resetting the alarm. Hammer? Its hammer-proof.
The only way to make it stop is to go into another room and punch the day’s date into a telephone-style keypad.
The inventor says he started working on the gadget because it was hard for him to get up and get to work on time after college.
Discipline. Thats all you need. When your alarm goes off… get up!!
Want one? The man has formed a company and already has more than 400 orders for the clocks, which sell for 350-dollars. Or, show some discipline. Up to you

Who Likes Fast Food???

A Facebook survey out today… asked members what their favorite fast-food restaurants. Some of the usuals made the list (McDonalds #2, Subway #3, Burger King #10) but there were also some surprises. Including Domino’s Pizza, Dunkin’ Donuts, Pizza Hut, and the #1 Fast-Food joint… Starbucks. Starbucks? Is Starbucks fast-food? Depends I guess on how we’re defining the word. You get food fast there… so maybe.
So the next time your kids ask to go for fast-food…. take ‘em to Starbucks, see how they react to that.

Not Gonna Blog Today

Office Space… sorta

Sunday night I had hockey… I literally got no sleep that night. Next night… hockey. Got 3 hours that night. Next night, woke up at 1 a.m. and never went back to sleep. Is this all normal? NO!! 6 hours sleep over 3 nights, thats not good for you is it?
I had a friend tell me he got “no sleep” the other night cause he woke up at 5, and never went back to sleep. So the 7 hours of sleep before that didn’t count?
So until I get some sleep… I’m not blogging anymore

Parenting 101

The first rule of parenting… ALWAYS protect your children. Don’t EVER do anything to put a target on their back.
So when the Alberta Government released their baby names of 2011, there are some… questionable ones.
Why would ANYONE name their child Moo? Or Tank? Or Smiley? Did you give birth to one of the 7 Dwarfs?
Some of the other names that caught my eye:
Princess, Queen, King, Amen, Marvelous, Pistol, Remington, Stryker, Tank, Trooper, J-Cub, Moo, Stylez, Solo, Stiff, and Tuba.
Numbers show that 50,592 babies were born in Alberta in 2011, and I get everyone can’t be Ethan and Emma… but Tuba? Really?
