A funny snake?  Who woulda thunk it?

A Twitter user has started an account for the Bronx Zoo’s missing Egyptian cobra. The account, @BronxZoosCobra, has already amassed more almost 75,000 followers.

The tweets began on Monday and have chronicled the snake’s adventures around New York City.  He’s been funny about it too as one tweet read, “Enjoying a cupcake @magnoliabakery. This is going straight to my hips. Oh, wait. I don’t have hips. Yesss!” Another tweet reads, “Leaving Wall Street. These guys make my skin crawl.” And perhaps the most popular posted message reads: “Holding very still in the snake exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. This is gonna be hilarious!”

Funny stuff.  I like this, I hope that snake never gets caught.

It took… oh, about 2 years after Red Deer got one, but Lethbridge is finally getting an Old Navy.   Park Place Mall announced on Friday that Old Navy will go in the Petcetera building… so it will be in the mall, but you can’t access it through the mall.  That kinda sucks, but whatever.

I like Old Navy.  Its like other, similar stores, but different, cause its better.  What?  Anyway… Old Navy…  Yeah!!!

Earth hour is happening this weekend.  Did ya remember?   No?  You’re not alone.

But, we are all encouraged to turn off our lights between 8:30 and 9:30 tomorrow night.  Will I honor it.  Nope.  thats prime TV-watchin’ time.  I support the Earth, I like her.  I recycle.  What more do ya want from me?

Last year… power consumption in Calgary, actually went up during Earth Hour.   Oops

Oh, oh… this is trouble.  First we can’t smoke, then drink, now doctors are telling us sitting is bad for us.

A new study says that hours spent sitting, could be taking years off your life.

Spending long periods sitting, dramatically increases your risk of chronic disease and premature death.   Oh oh!

If you’re immobile for long periods… even an hour a day at the gym doesn’t counteract that.   Yet the average Canadian sits for over 9 hours a day.  Doctors recomment getting up, walking around, or even the fancy desks with treadmills underneath. 

I write this… sitting on my butt.

Japan observed a moment of silence Friday at 2:46 p-m local time,  at that exact moment one week ago, northeastern Japan was devastated by a magnitude-9 earthquake which triggered a seven-metre tsunami.

65-hundred people have known to have died in the disaster, but there are at least 10-thousand listed as missing.

I remember where I was on 9/11.  When the Blue Jays won their first World Series.  Thats it.  I don’t think in 2 years I’ll look back and remember this moment… as devestating as it is.  
 

Is that it?  Are we done with winter?  can i put my shovel away yet?  Last time I did that was in January.  I think its snowed a couple times since then and I used my shovel about 43 times.

That said… wow, what a great weekend.  My dog starts going snakey this time of year… she gets spring fever and wants out all the time.  It was great here and taking a look at the forecast for the rest of the week, its gonna be nice for awhile.

This is my favorite time of year.  All the snow melts and you realize just how much dog crap you got in your backyard.  I love baseball so I get excited about that… the Blue Jays are won of the best teams in baseball… right now.  And slo-pitch is right around the corner.

Yeah… I’m putting my shovel away.  Did I just jinx it?

I think they’re using the term “Stars” pretty loosely. 

The 12th season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars has been unveiled, and it seems to get worse every year.

Here’s the lineup… boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard,  model Petra Nemcova, and Karate Kid Ralph Macchio will be among 11 celebrity contestants when the ABC show returns March 21.

Also hitting the dance floor will be Kirstie Alley; Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Hines Ward; professional wrestler Chris Jericho; “Loveline” radio show co-host Mike Catherwood; one-time rap prodigy Romeo (former Lil’ Romeo); Chelsea Kane of Disney Channel’s “Jonas”; talk show host Wendy Williams and reality star Kendra Wilkinson.

Really?  Are these people stars?  Guess so… in someone’s world.
