If your short some cash right now, there may be some lying around. According to Canoe.ca, The Alberta government is apparenetly sitting on millions of dollars in uncashed cheques, forgotten utility deposits and unclaimed refunds. But it’s not just cash. The province is also holding on to a large amount of artwork, jewelry and furniture left over from old estates.
A spokesman with Alberta Finance and Enterprise, says relatives and friends of a large number of deceased people who owned the cash or items can rightfully make a claim by logging on to MissingMoney.com.
And since the site is only two years old, the spokesman says the cash and the property will keep piling up.
