Great character guy in Warrener. Too bad to see him go, but really, hockey is a business. No way he doesn't end up in the front office somewhere. Eriksson, well, flames are 30 goals against/year without him in the lineup.

Iagree with the sentiments of all regarding Warriner and Ericksson. Jamie Lundmark had a great camp, not just a good camp. He'll be up here quick as soon as theres injuries and you heard it here first he's gonna play very well while here!!

I have to agree with Andy's remark above. Why wasn't it Aucoin being sent down instead? Lets face it, they are very much the same type of player and correct me if i am wrong but isn't Aucoin's salary even larger than Rhett's??? woulda been a far more better decision to send aucoin down thru the waivers instead.

It's a real shame to see Rhett go, he really poured his heart out in training camp. He deserves to be on this team the way he played, but unfortunately not under his current contract. It's too bad that the salary cap can deprive such a hard-worker like him of making the team.

I would much rather seen Aucoin hit waivers then Warrener. Why has his $4M salary not come up with respect to the cap. He is very much overpaid. I wonder if Sutter has tried to deal him away?

I uunderstand that there's a business side to sports and Rhettzy was just a victim of the numbers game, but as a Flames fan I will really miss him on this team. He was a quality guy and I wish there was some sort of position in the organization for him. All the best, Rhett.

It is a changing of the guard - it happens every year -with every team. Rhett was a scrapper - a character guy - but time may have caught up. Anders - too slow and coughed up the puck far too often - Jamie - time will tell his future - he will have to be better than average in Quad City to get back - this is a new season - new faces - lets hope for some (positive) new results - I really want to see these guys play in Aril - May and beyond!

Rhett is a great defencemen but at the end of the day I beleive the new NHL has been a tough adjustment for him as speed is a must. I'm sure he will land on his feet somewhere. As for Eriksson...not a huge loss.

I feel Sutter should have kept Rhett... He has always given 110% and never took a day off in a game like some of the other high profile players have... I know hockey is a business and loyalty for a player is no longer there, but you can't replace leadership and at times I feel the Flames lack leadership with the exception of Iggy... I almost hope Edmonton picks him up so he can get a chance to prove to Sutter that he made a mistake... i wouldn't doubt if Phoenix picks him up as the greatest player that ever played knows how important leadership and playing with heart means to a team...
