What gets me is that the language police are being sent to other parts of Canada not just Quebec.
- JohnIf they vote for it they get what they deserver, unfortunately we’ll all have to live with this and the repercussions that go with it. Hopefully Quebecers are smarter than what Marois gives them credit for. Only fools would vote for her.
- MarkI am a French Quebecer and the PQ party and it’s policies make me want to throwup. I am very proud of my heritage but I am also just as proud of being Canadian. Your culture and heritage should come from within your own family. Not forced down your throat or anyone else’s for that matter by an extremist provincial government that wants to rip our country in half and make it so disagreeable for Anglos to live in Quebec, that in the near future there will only be unilingual French speaking Quebecers left in the Province and it will at that point become very simple to obtain a majority vote for Quebec seperation resulting in the ned of Canada as we know it. The Canadian Government in power needs to grow some balls and label seperatists as exactly what they are….traitors to their own country….Canada! I sincerely hope that myself. nor my children nor my future grandchildren and so on and so on, ever see the day where Canada gets ripped in half by self serving power hungry seperatists wether they be from Quebec, Alberta or any other Province in our great country.
- Gilles B.I think it’s about time for the rest of the country to stand up and say enough is enough and let Quebec go. We would save a lot of tax dollars on duplication.
- DanIt would be interesting to see what kind of totalitarian government they would have if they separated.I’m sure the wining would be unbearable.
- JohnShortsighted as usual. Not to worry, if they seperate, the First Nations would then seperate and remain in Canada which would leave quebec with about 1/4 of the actual province and no hydro revenue. You don’t argue with a P*ssed off Mohawk Warrior and an M16…byt the way, notice how the wealthy & powerful, inclouding Marois, are “allowed” to speak English?
- DougI live in Montreal, I am English, I was born here and many of us will not vote in the election because there is no one party that supports Anglophones. The Liberal Party appeases the french population to stay in power. The language laws are now bordering on discrimination. The existing government and the parties desiring to govern all want English to be pushed into the ground. Is this Canada? I would like to see for ONCE and for all the Federal Government control their provinces when necessary, this is a perfect example. Giving Quebec too much has done nothing but make french quebecers demand more. This would not be tolerated in the U.S. or any other province. What will Quebec have? The quebec dollar? worth 5 cents? a banana republic full of ignorance.
