Well said Randall. The regressive policies of this gov’t need to go along with the gov’t itself. Lets move forward with this..tax it and make a lot of money for the gov’t…but this gov’t is short on sense and long on stupdity.

I agree with you, to be honest I find most people to be a lot nicer on pot than they are on booze. And I’m not a regular pot smoker, I may have it once or twice a year. Maybe our leaders should try some..who knows??

Of course pot should be legal, but as long as we live next door to the good ole’ US of A-hole it’ll never happen. There are a great number of people getting rich because weed, and other drugs are illegal, and we’re not just talking about organized crime here.
Don’t think for a second the US gov’t isn’t up to their eyeballs in the drug trade.
If you want to know what the real deal on illegal drugs is – check out what Jesse Ventura has to say on the topic.

Anyone who voted conservative in the last federal election should have known that that a majority conservative government would try to bring in regressive change as this. Prediction: Those who voted for Steven will in a few years regret having helped him get his majority to begin the “Americanization” of our great country. It will be a regret not unlike that of those Americans who voted for George Dubya. Who did you vote for Randall? Hope you’re not too politically correct to say.

Don’t think for one minute the UN or US will allow such a thing to ever happen. It would be considered financially wise, and knowing how the world works these days doing whats best, smart or wise just never happens. Why did we invade Iraq? Because the US told us to rather then fix our own problems like fixing the housing and employment problems. In the next four decades we will still be in the exact same situation with constant a flux, think much has been solved since 1972 or 89? Nope, nor will it.

I totally disagree. Pot is illegal for a reason and it should stay that way. MM

First of all politicians will say anything to swing public opinion their way, so I dont believe the Liberals will ever make it legal. Second of all, I grew up in the 70′s smoking pot, still smoke pot and never went thru that gateway they talk about. I agree with Linda, pot smokers are nicer. I have never seen a pot smoke tweeking and running out to armrob a drugstore. The only thing pot smokers want to raid is the refrigerator. Yes MM pot is illegal for a reason. One hundred years ago when their was alot of of crazy things going on, ie: prohibition, medical experiments at insane asylums, don’t hit your wife with anything wider than your thumb. It costs 80,000 a year to house an inmate, for God’s sake just leave the pot smokers alone.

Apparently our politicians would rather spend ALOT of money on either ridding society of the *evil* weed, yet, its more than likely in abundance on the hill. This is just an observation I had made in my younger days in the public transportation industry in Ottawa. Those saying or implying its evil or bad for society ought to have a good look at themselves. If it is such a nasty thing to smoke the *herb* then how is it that we allow alchol to legally cause such a negative effect on society.

I say do drug testing on the hill, just once do it without warning and see who is a hypocryte and who isnt and I can bet a dollar to a doughnut that we would find a *majority* tested users.Legalize it,tax it and save law enforcement time and money. Those against the *herb* are maybe drinkers as well, why not criminalize booze again seeing as how many have been killed by DUI or other means while under the influence of alchol.
