Hear hear Randall, if I were a Habs fan I would want the BEST Coach based on ability, experience, etc etc
- MarkI wouldn’t give a dam what language he spoke.
Nobody really cares who coaches the habs anyways…move along nothing to see here.
- markAs ( ummmm ) a Leaf fan, Agree. Kinda think the east Canadian world is doing ok, I say it’s all about the players not so much the coach anyways, as for french or whatever, who care’s, we all cheers to the same beer
- MikeThe problem here is not a language, coach or fan issue, it’s journalists looking for something to sqawk about and further divide the individuals who either speak english or french. Quebecers and other french speaking individuals in North America are only trying to preserve their language on a continent where english is predominant. As far as I know the english language is not threatened here in America, for the time being anyways, and if it’s threatened someday, it won’t come from the french. Maurice Richard has tatooed the CH on Quebecers hearts, even those who, like me, could’nt care less about hockey. I also find it sad for the coach in question to be criticized in that manner. Thank god that opened minded people, both french and english speaking, will simply look down on this and realise that it’s just another reason to complain. As for the Molson beer boycott, wow that would hurt. Would also be funy to see hab fans sneek in a good Irish beer in the Bell Centre, maybe a Guinness? The journalists would just drool all over, give them something to write or sqawk about and cause another tidal wave in a glass of water. Let’s move on to more serious issues.

- FrankydoodleWhat difference does it make if the coach cant speak French. He would probably be better off learning Russion anyway. What really bothers me is why Quebec gets to be unilingual and the rest of us have to be bilingual. If they want to preserve their culture they can do it in their own province. What if all peoples in Canada insisted on preserving their culture? Tower of Babel? I am sick and tired of the govt telling me what I cannot do or say. Oh and by the way, Merry Christmas everyone. To hell with political corrections, if u don’t like it, go back to wherever u came from and let me preserve my culture for a change.
