I appreciate your comments and as the head Coach of the Nepean Redskins Midget team I was so thankfull for your comments.
It is a shame that no other newsmedia eg Team 1200 our only local sports radio station completely ignored the fact that this event was going on.
There is more to the Ottawa area sports than Hockey and Soccer take a look out your windows folks there are some real good games and players competeing every Friday and Sunday, If any one missed the game last Friday night they missed a classic the 2 top teams in the Midget level battling it out to the final whistle.
After the game was completed the head Ref came to me and word for word…” This was the Best Midget Finals Game he and his crew had the priveledge of Officiateing” Both teams were a total class act.I do not know if you had noticed the size of my roster but we played the Full season with only 24 players against Rosters of 45 – 50 and at the final we played with 23 ….I had heard members of the crowd speaking that they should make a movie or interview these players because of what they accomplished……I agree and with your comments there efforts were not wasted…..only wish the rest of Illustrious local media hello Team 1200 Local sports going on here….Oh thats right your daughters are not playing and Alfredson plays the wrong sport should have known.
Thank You for your time
Steve Viau Head Coach nepean Redskins Midget Football.
- Steve ViauSteve,
I do agree with you whole heartedly. However, I am not surprise that the local media except for the Ottawa sun and Chez 106 appear to have no inkling of local football in Ottawa.
And by the way, I big truck load of lemons goes out to the City of Ottawa for not living up to their responsibilities of maintaining the Minto Football Field at the Nepean Sportsplex. On Sunday’s A-Cup competitions, parents, fans, coachers and players were in total bewilderment of the conditions of the football field from the previous night snow fall. There was so much snow that one could easily have had a skiing or snowboarding competition instead.
Thank goodness that as the cold tempetature through out the day started turning the snow into ice, none of the players sustained any serious injuries resulting from the ice accumulation.
With a new administration at City Hall, hopefully, things will be better for next year.
I salute all the NCAFA teams and players especially those who participated in Championship Week 2010. Well Done!!!
