It wasn’t that long ago Premier McGuinty was assuring us the negative affects of the HST would be offset by businesess passing along their tax breaks to the consumer.
Too bad he doesn’t practice what he preaches.
The LCBO, government run, a monopoly, makes zillions. Great chance for McGuinty to lead by example and reduce prices.
Not gonna happen.
The government says - ready for this – that cutting the price would lead to more alcohol consumption! Something about ‘ social responsiblity’.
Now I’m definitely heading out to buy a bottle.
Seriously, they expect business owners to do what they won’t do themselves.

I have a suggestion for McGuinty: start telling the truth!
The only tax breaks anyone will get are what the MP and the MPP’s give to them selves. Their philosophy, take as much as you can before they get caught or voted out. As for business passing on any savings don’t hold your breath.
