Wouldn’t you know it,  no sooner  had I  finished  a commentary ripping Ontario’s new  sex-ed  curriculum,   Premier McGuinty pulls the plug on it. So here I go,  take two. But don’t think for  a second I’m going to praise the premier. Not a chance.  That’s because  his sudden  about-face   is more about politics than policy.    Speaking  of politics,  I had to laugh  when Conservative MP Chris Warkentin said  former MP Rahim Jaffer was giving politicians  a bad name. Sorry Mr. Warkentin, for   never hearing of you  before,  but you must be seriously out of touch because it’s not possible to  give politicians a worse name than they already have.  And don’t  you love the way the Conservatives have turned their back on Jaffer. Rahim. Rahim who?  Never heard  of him.   You’ve heard of John Baird, of course. And Bob Chiarelli.  I  think it’s fair to say they’re not good friends.  How uncomfortable they must be  attending all those  events together.  It seems like every time   I turn on the t-v news there they are,  side-by-side, at this sod-turning or that. What  do you  say   to someone you clearly can’t stand?  What about Larry O’Brien?  Is he going to run or what?  Now he’s   vowing to block the expansion of the Carp Road dump.   What’s that all about?   I don’t  know.  I also don’t know about that proposed bus deal the city has signed with New Flyer  whose chairman is Captain Canada,  Brian Tobin. Why  the big hurry to sign the deal?   And how  do we know  these new buses won’t be ‘ lemons ‘ too?     I have my doubts,  I really do.
