Today we mourn the  passing of a beloved old friend,   Common Sense,  who has been with us for many years.  No one  knows for sure  how old he was,  since his birth records  were long ago  lost  in bureaucratic red tape.   He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:

knowing when to  come in out of the rain,   why the early bird  gets  the worm,   life isn’t always fair,  and maybe  it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple , sound financial  policies ( don’t spend more than you can  earn )   and reliable  strategies ( adults, not childen,  are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when  well-intentioned but overbearing regulations  were set in place.  Reports of a 6 year old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate;   teens suspended from school  for using mouthwash after lunch;  and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student,    only  worsened his  condition.

Common Sense  lost ground  when parents attacked  teachers  for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

It declined even further when schools were required to get  parental consent to administer sun lotion   or an aspirin  to   a student,   but could  not  inform parents when a  student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense  lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and  criminals  received better treatment  than their victims.

Common Sense  took a beating  when you couldn’t  defend yourself from  a burglar in your home and the burglar could sue YOU for assault.

Common Sense   finally  gave up the will to live after  a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of  coffee was hot.  She spilled  a little  in her  lap and was promptly  awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents,  Truth and Trust,  by his wife,  Discretion,   by his daughter,  Responsibility, and by his son,    Reason.

He is survived by his four stepbrothers;

I Know My Rights

I Want It Now

Someone Else Is To Blame

I’m A Victim.

Not many  attended his  funeral because so few realized  he was gone.    But if you remember him,  pass this on.  If not,  join the majority.

Referring back to the OLYMPICS you so proudly bragged about…you are correct…but how do we try to be proud when we chant boos to our goaltender….cheat by making a postage stamp of Bilideau before we even started the Olympics….no damn wonder the rest of the world protests our immature behaviour….and our ladies hockey getting drunk on the ice..smoking cigars…and painting our BELOVED flag maple leaf gold……if someone else painted something like a swastika on the flag would we ever rant and rave….we are soooooo fucked up on ourselves

Referring to Mr. Edwards’ comment about our fans “booing” Roberto Luongo.

You are mistaken, sir, the Vancouver fans know him well and when he touches the puck they all chant ” LOOOOOO” ( as in Luongo ) because he is so good!

I too mourn the loss of common sense. To see the way that children are being brought up in this so called “permissive” society, makes me believe all the teachings of my parents and grandparents have been lost forever. When I grew up if you talked back to your parents, it didn’t mean you get a time out it meant, to quote a comedian, you get knocked out. I was taught to respect my elders. My neighbors were Mr. & Mrs. Smith, not Bob and Carol or Ted & Alice. Hell to this day I still don’t know what their first names were. Your right Randall, as he laid there on his death bed, passerby’s just commented, “I’m just to busy to stop for a visit, maybe my kids will” and of course they never did.

The winning celebration of the wonman’s hockey team and drinking on the ice. In some ways the arena could be considered a ‘sacred’ place; while others use the arena too for events, I suggest the place for celebration should have been in the locker room considering alcohol and tobacco products were used. A healthy respect for others and a sense of common sense dictates this should have been the way to go

Hang on just a minute. Common Sense did not simply die. He was in fact murdered! yes murdered by a notorious gang which goes by the name Political Correctness. This gang has infiltrated our schools, work places, media/the press and halls of justice. It moves in slowly by making one feel uncomfortable to express feeling and thoughts and finally suffocating your voice of reason and truth. You should be wary of this gang as it is it’s intention to infilrate all areas of your life in order to be promoted or even hold the job you have you will have to be part of the Politically Correct gang to be accepted my friends you have to be a member of this gang. It may even attach it’s self to your children at school and infiltrate your own home leaving you lame broken and a sense of unworthiness. Then are defenders out there trying to stop this gang, however even their closest allies will not join them in the fight out of nothing more then fear of being scolded. The end
