Mayor Tom Laughren is hoping to keep his title – he’s officially filed for re-election. Laughren says he’s developed a lot of contacts within the provincial and federal governments in the past four years, and they’re relationships he’d like to continue. Allan Manchester is the only other candidate running for Mayor – nominations for the municipal elections are due Friday by 2pm at city hall.
Having a Mayor like Tom is not good for the City of Timmins and its residents. He is selling off our land for next to nothing, and giving away our childrens sports center, the Timmins Gymnastics club. He is making our children suffer for no good reason.
