A prestigious award was won by an Espanola Highschool student.

Tristan Emiry won the Loran Award given to talented young Canadians on the basis of character, service and leadership potential.

He is one of 30 students across Canada to receive the award which includes up to 80 thousand dollars to pursue post-secondary education.

Emiry is the prime-minister of his school government and spearheaded the “Spread the Net” campaign that received national attention.
