Sudbury Police Chief Frank Elsner says next to Christmas and their birthday, many kids look forward to Halloween more than any other day of the year.
With that in mind…police are asking everyone to be aware of safety tonight.
Constable Meghan O’Malley says motorists are asked to watch out for excited kids who may forget to look both ways when crossing the street.
Kids should wear reflective clothing, carry a flashlight and they should always travel in groups.
Parents should their kids candy before they start to eat it.
Police will also be working with local amateur radio operators, the Cambrian College Criminal Justice association and Citizen on Patrol volunteers to help provide safe streets.
