OPP used a spike belt to try to stop a stolen SUV heading west on Highway 17, West of Spanish.
The Ford Expedition had been reported stolen from Sudbury earlier in the day and after filling up on gas in Espanola the suspects took off without paying.
The driver had swerved to try to avoid the spike belt but the vehicle ended up in the ditch.
Three men fled the scene, but were quickly arrested by police.
