*****Update*****

One person is dead after a three vehicle collision on Highway 17 East, just west of North Bay.

OPP closed the highway for over six hours Thursday when a van and a car collided head on and a third vehicle struck the other two, just after 12-noon, near the scenic lookout.

The driver of the van died at the scene.

Her name has not been released.

The highway reopened to traffic around 7pm Thursday evening.

OPP have closed Highway 17 East near North Bay after a three vehicle collision.

Few details are known at this time but the closure is near Trap and Skeet Road and is expected to last several hours.

There are no detours available at this time.
