The BearWise program starts up April 1st. No bears have been spotted in our area…yet. But the MNR says you should ‘bear-proof’ your property now, including proper garbage storage and taking down winter bird feeders. Things like that. We may not have the bears roaming around our streets yet, but don’t leave open jars of peanut butter lying around on your lawn is all they’re saying. Taking down bird feeders and doing your garbage properly is all well and good but if you REALLY want to protect your loved ones from bears…watch this video VERY closely and study it. It may save your life this spring!
