Sault MPP David Orazietti announced 1 million dollars in funding today for a local manufacturing company. S-I-S Manufacturing Corporation is receiving a 500 thousand dollar loan and a 500 thousand dollar grant from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund’s Enterprise North Job Creation Program. The money will be allocated towards an expansion to the People’s Road facilities and equipment upgrades. The enhancements include two 25-tonne cranes, sub arc welding machines and a shot blast horizontal plate. A 36 thousand square foot building will also be constructed where structural steel components for locomotive trains will be made. The money received by S-I-S is divided equally in the form a loan and grant money and covers part of the 2.4 million dollar overall expansion cost.
