The Sault Ste. Marie Innovation Centre’s Community Geomatics Centre has been recognized by Esri Canada for integrating Esri’s GIS system technology in the development of the Vulnerable Person’s Registry. The Innovation Centre has received the Esri Canada Award of Excellence for this outstanding GIS application. The pilot project was launched with 10 registrants and the number has now grown to 50 and it’s expected that more than 1-thousand vulnerable persons in the city will benefit from the system.
