One of my all time favorite bands is in Calgary tonight and unfortunately, I will not be in attendance, namely because I’m a wild man and my schedule dictates that I’m in bed and sawing logs by 9 PM.
I’m talking about the band that brought plaid clothing back the to the forefront of fashion, a band that doesn’t need pyro or half naked girls on stage to give a great show; I’m talking about a band that has continued to keep their eye on the prize and makes music for the sake of making music; Pearl Jam.
The very first time I saw these guys, their album ’10′ was still on the charts and ‘Crazy Mary’ was a new song, so basically 20 years ago. I lost my shoes that night and woke up in the bed of a stranger’s truck, all contributing to a very memorbable show. I’ve eperienced Pearl Jam several times since that mosquito infested evening in northern Manitoba and with tickets still available (as of 9:25 AM), for tonight’s gig in Calgary, there’s a part of wondering if the Lawdy Mama would realize I’m missing f
