Now that Mother Nature has allowed us a taste of summer in the last few days, I’ve noticed that my interests continue to change as I get older.
Cutting the grass for example. At one time you couldn’t get me close to a 5 Hp Briggs and Stratton or even the mighty 16 HP, White riding mower, complete with hydrostatic tranny and cup holder.
It’s a different story these days as I now take pride in cutting the grass. I’ve even gone so far as to purchase a mower with a bag and even bought a weed wacker to let those long blades of green surrounding my fence know who the boss is.
I’ll even spend time thinking about ‘how’ I want to cut my grass. Last week it was diagonally and the week before that I cut the yard in an ‘S’ fashion. This week it was checkerboard and next week I’ll attempt the crop circle.
And if you’re thinking that I don’t have much of a life, I’d have to agree with you and the worst part is I’m more than okay with that.
