Flames play a rare home matinee game on Saturday but not as rare as the Bobble Head promotion.

  For just the 3rd time in 6 years the Flames have an afternoon match at the Pengrowth Saddledome facing off against the Nashville Predators.

  The Flames are 1-1 their last 2 games at home in the afternoon. Last Feb. 7 a 2-1 loss to Anaheim and in 2006 a 4-1 win over Buffalo.

  The Bobble Head promotion Saturday is the first of 6 the team will have this season starting with captain Jarome Iginla.  The first 2,500 fans into the ‘Dome will get Iginla’s likeness.

  The Bobble Head has been around since 1920 for a New York Knicks basketball promo known then as “Nodders” then. The fad has come and gone over years. This is the Flames first such venture.

  The Flames are looking to win 2-straight games for the first time in Dec. The Flames ended Nov. on a 4-game winning streak after defending the Predators, 5-0 in Nashville.

  The Preds, who were on a roll before that game and are again now with wins in 5 of 6 games, lead the Flames by one point in a tight Western Conference where just 3 points separate 7 teams.
