Tonight is Military Night at the Saddledome as honored military personel march to seats provided for them, while the Flames plan is to keep in step.

The Flames pre-All-Star break performance was good enough to gain them a 9-point lead at the top of the NW Division standings.  If the Flames keep the same pace over their final 37 games they’ll nab their second NW pennant in four years.  When the Flames finished first in 2005-06, they were 7 points ahead at the all-star stoppage. Ever since the team leading the NW at the break finished on top.

Michael Cammallerri likely wanted to keep right on going after the game last Wednesday against Columbus.  The LW had notched points in 6-straight games (8-2=10) for his hottest run of the season. He also takes a 3-game goal streak into the contest against the Buffalo Sabres. He has 5 goals in the 3 games.

Cammalleri’s linemate, Jarome Iginla, has points and assists in his last 4 games and also scored his first ever goal in All-Star competition on Sunday.

The Sabres were very sharp Tuesday night in Edmonton drilling the Oilers, 10-2, setting a club record for goals in a single game on the road.  From a Flame perspective, you hope they used up all their goals against the Oilers.
