Hey Pat -- great article. I am in full agreement with you. You've got to hand it to a guy like Kimbo who, instead of trying to 'ride the wave' of his popularity, he decides to start from scratch and get in the grassroots way. I gained A TON of respect for Kimbo when I heard this. A TON. He didnt go publicly with it, he didnt have any big announcements, he just did - shows his true colors of this dude's competitiveness.....and I don't think ANYONE has ever questioned his intensity. I'm looking forward to the airing of this in September.

PS: That's a really good point Ty. Kimbo went about it the right way and it really gives you some insight into his mindset and just how much passion he has for mixed martial arts. He's trying to prove he's not just a freak who can punch, but he's also a guy who can make the big time by pure hard work.

Couldn't agree more Pat and even without Kimbo I think season 10 would be a huge success because it will feature the Heavyweight division. I love watching fighters of all weight classes, but there is an intangible to the guys who are literally larger than life. When a heavyweight fight is bad, it tends to be really bad but TUF is all about increasing the mainstream access to the sport and the casual fan has always been drawn to bigger fighters in any combat sport.

A small aside the next several weeks should be full of action for MMA fans. We've got Faber's rematch, UFC 99 and a TUF Finale show with 3 solid matchups already on the card in the next 3 weeks alone. A good appetizer for the UFC 100 supercard in July.

PS: No kidding Jeff, it's been a great run of events with 2 of the aforementioned cards in the books with the finale this Saturday and 100 in the offing. Unreal run of events, couldn't be happier! As for season 10 of TUF, the UFC is doing the right thing with going with heavyweights, Kimbo or not. They need some new blood in that division, because you're right, when a heavyweight fight is good, it's usually really good. Add Slice into the mix, and it could be really exciting.

I fully agree, as a fringe fan, I follow the highlights but never sit down to watch the show or the fights, but Slice intrigues me, and "Why the hell not" fits perfectly, as Why the hell would I not follow Slice' TUF run.

PS: Exactly Scott, and with PVR ratings starting to count, it'll help the UFC and Spike even more. It'll be very interesting to see how many "why the hell not" fans there will be for the upcoming season.
