With the London Olympic Games fast approching, that also means the Paralympic Games are following closely behind. There’s just 100 days to go until the opening of the competition, and to mark the occasion Canadian paralympic athletes – judoka Justin Karn, wheelchair rugby player David Willsie, rower Victoria Nolan and wheelchair basketball player Tracey Ferguson – were on hand at the Athletes Village site for the 2015 Pan-Am/Para-PanAm Games in Toronto to meet His Royal Highness Prince Charles. The Prince and his wife, Camilla, are in Canada on a royal tour and helped celebrate the countdown as a part of their stop in Toronto.
I had a chance to speak with Tracey Ferguson about meeting Prince Charles, preparation for the LondonĀ Games and getting ready to lead the women’s wheelchair basketball team in her sixth trip to the Paralympics.
