Green Zone

Hmmm, let’s see. Matt Damon is a rogue soldier-type who has to discover the truth about a corrupt military. He smashes and crashes his way through exotic locations while looking intense, capable, and vulnerable all at the same time. You may as well call this picture “The Bourne Green Zone.” It’s based on a book about Iraq from Rajiv Chandrasekaran, the former Baghdad Bureau Chief of the Washington Post. Let’s see how badly the script writers mangled the narrative. Rated 14-A.

Remember Me

Robert Pattinson is out to prove his range is broader than the perennially brooding undead. Here he’s teamed up with “Lost’s” Emilie de Ravin, who has ditched her Aussie accent. Yahoo calls this romance “…an unforgettable story about the power of love, the strength of family, and the importance of living passionately and treasuring every day of one’s life.” How original. Chris Cooper and Pierce Brosnan play the dads. Rated PG

She’s Out Of My League

From the same screenwriters who brought us “Sex Drive.” Need I say more? A novice director and no big names are behind this flick about yet another nerdy guy who manages to score yet another hot leggy blonde. The trailer looks mildly entertaining, but I doubt I could take much more than 30 seconds of this stuff. Rated 14-A.

Our Family Wedding

This one’s only opening at Tinseltown, but I love the people in it. America Ferrera - minus the braces and soon to be minus “Ugly Betty” - plays the Latino girl engaged to the black guy despite their feuding fathers (Carlos Mencia and Forest Whitaker). Very Tyler Perry-esque. Rated PG.
