Moose squeak out first win of roadtrip

November 18th, 2011

The Halifax Mooseheads squeaked out a 2-1 win in their first game of a grueling three-game roadtrip through Quebec.

Nathan MacKinnon set up two goals in the first period and that’s all the Herd needed to win Friday night. Luca Ciampini and Matthew Boudreau were the goal scorers.

Zach Fucale continued his stellar play, turning away 19 shots for the win.

The Mooseheads thought they had an empty netter goal just before the buzzer but the official game sheet did not reflect that. Darcy Ashley took a pretty nasty bump to the head at the end of the game – he’ll be assessed by the medical staff before Saturday’s game.
