Cuts at camp, roster down to 33
The Mooseheads made their first round of cuts Saturday morning prior to the team’s pre-season game against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.

Also despite Cam Russell’s best negotiating tactics 17-year-old defenceman MacKenzie Weegar has left camp to protect his NCAA eligibility. It’s expected he’ll return to Ontario to play Junior A this season. The Mooseheads picked up Weegar last week from Rouyn-Noranda for a late round draft pick. Weegar’s departure and the six cuts leave the Mooseheads with 33 players at camp.
