In this sense I agree with JP's assessment of "I don't know where we'd be without him". You could also argue from the point of view of "who else deserves it?" At the same time, I agree with you that the team's OFFENSIVE MVP has to be one of the outfielders -- clearly, the word "offensive" would eliminate Scoot. My vote would go to Wells.
