I’ll be along, blogging, you know it, baby…….

Sorry, but once I got that song in my head, there was no getting it out.  I’d like someone to take a shot at explaining to me, though, why whenever I think about Simple Minds (it’s not that often, believe me), the Psychedelic Furs also pop into my head.  Weird.  Another one of several ways in which I am unexplainable.

Anyway, with Nashville far in the rear-view mirror, I just wanted to let you know that I’m not going to disappear from the blogosphere by any means.  The posts will be more infrequent, but I’m going to try to get at least a couple up every week even if the Blue Jays don’t do anything, so keep checking back periodically.

Sometime in the next couple of days I’ll put up my first-ever mailbag, which will include responses to a few reader comments, as well.  Gerry, this is how the Twins would react to a Rios-Litsch proposal for Johan Santana, by the way……….”BWAH HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!!  No, seriously – you’re serious?  BWAH HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!!!  OK,  no, really, Rios and Litsch? Cool.  Who are the other three guys we’re getting?  McGowan, Lind, and who else?”

OK, it might not be that bad.  But it might.

So, if you want to get into the mailbag, shoot me an e-mail at wilner590@hotmail.com over the course of the next couple of days.  However, if you have just come into a large amount of money through some sort of bank transfer in Nigeria, I’m really not all that interested.

Rios and Litsch for Santana…sounds like something one of the geniuses that comment on bastians blog came up with

Now that Lo Duca is off the market, do you think the Jays will have interest in Mike Lebiethal (Sp?)

    leiberthal (probably still spelled wrong)

Well Mike, I didn’t think I’d get such a rise from you; I also didn’t think it was as dumb of a deal as the one you came up with on signing Kenny Lofton.

What do you want to do set a MLB record for being the only team with 3 guys over 40-or did you forget Stairs turns 40 in February and Thomas in early May?

Put Zaun in at 37 next April and LoDuca (36 next April)-if we’d gotten him and we might as well have a “seniors” team.

Wilner.. with all the fuss nowadays about the Jays wanting to get a “Canadian Superstar” to market to fans (ie. targeting guys like Bedard)… would it be forseeable to see the Jays potentially inquire about a guy like Joey Votto? Perhaps a package of Overbay + Rios for Votto & Bailey?

That Gerry guy must live in an incredible fantasy world. I wish I could be a part of it….

Tom-you must be a Maple Leaf fan. Never any suggestions or opionions of your own-just sit back and critize others.

it really does, I comment on Bastian’s blog regularly and one or 2 guys in particular make proposals like that. Then again i’m not the be all end all of trade speculation either but some of it is wishful thinking.

There Mike goes again ridiculing his readers by publicly humiliating them. He treats listeners on his show the same way – no respect or class. A very classless individual.

Gerry – I think the Mets had 4 40+ year old players last year (Glavine, Il Duque, Julio Franco, Moises Alou).

Robbie – I doubt the Reds would trade a top young hitter for established players given their budget limits.

Dilson – Lieberthal (I before E except after C or in Weird) seems far too old and broken down for what the BJs need. Perhaps dealing TJ and a lower prospect to the Mets for Ramon Castro as they picked up Schneider and Estrada? Thoughts Mike?

Hey Mike, what would you think of signing Damian Miller as a backup catcher over Fasano? Just a thought

No Gerry whats hilarious is that you were the one who thought Rios and Litsch were enough for Santana…thats hilarious.
I dont pretend to play GM except in my fantasy baseball league. It doesnt matter what I think the Blue Jays should do because they’re gonna do whatever they wanna do with or without me commenting on some blog suggesting “brilliant” potential trades.

But you know just for kicks how does Russ Adams for oh i dunno Albert Pujols sound? Cause its about as likely as your trade idea.
